Hand crafted from vegetable tanned (naturally tanned) leather. We use full grain leather which retains the full richness and character of the leather. Vegetable tanned leather will develop a wonderful patina with use. The case is designed to last decades and improve with age and use.
The art has been permanently etched into the leather in black/brown.
- The front of this leather case displays an antique nickel tone clasp and full moon phase.
- The Flower of Life is prominent on the back side along with the crescent moon & radiant triangle that stretches over the top and onto the front flap.
- Pair of the Eye of Providence cover the sides.
The leather has been hand dyed in a rich antique black color, with a mildly distressed finish. Selected images remain in natural leather color, to provide contrast. The hand dying process results in a unique finish, as each piece of leather interacts with the dye to bring out the individual character of each piece.
This case comes with a heavy antique nickel toned clasp. There is a thumb slot cut out that is hidden under the front flap to allow for easy retrieval of your tarot cards. Hand sewn with ivory thread that keeps all seams super tight while coordinating with the imagery.

We are unable to add personalization or customization to non-custom / ready-made items after purchase, because of differences in pricing, processing and shipping times, fabrication methods, and return policies. What is vegetable tanned leather?
Vegetable tanning is an organic process to preserve the leather. It uses natural tannins from plant sources, making it more environmentally friendly. It’s a slow process which takes weeks to months to complete.
Vegetable-tanned leather has some rigidity to it, which helps the product to retain its shape and integrity. Vegetable-tanned leather will soften and develop a rich patina over time, meaning your item will develop a unique and appealing appearance as it ages, only getting better with time.
By contrast, chrome-tanned leather is quickly chemically and more inexpensively tanned. It may present toxins to the environment and manufacturing employees. "Vegan", faux, or PU leather is petroleum-based polyurethane/vinyl.Tarot Case Sizing and Capacity
There are many different sizes of card decks, so be sure to check your specific deck's measurement against your listing before ordering.
Most tarot card cases are sized to house a standard sized tarot deck or smaller. The standard cases will house this size deck or smaller:
2 7/8 inches (72mm) wide
1.25 inches (32mm) deep
4 15/16 inches (125mm) tall.
All our standard size tarot cases are tested at the time of creation and prior to shipping, using a classic RW deck from a US publisher. We also have listings in our shop for palm sized (slightly smaller) or oversized decks. If you need a larger case to fit your specific deck, I would be happy to custom build one for you.
