DetailsThis Premium Handmade Leather Bag features artwork depicting butterflies, wildflowers and the sun. The bag can include an optional removable and adjustable crossbody or shoulder strap. Our special leather purse, modeled after our popular tarot card cases, was hand dyed and hand sewn in our small Missouri shop.

The Leather:
Hand crafted from vegetable tanned (naturally tanned) leather. We use full grain leather which retains the full richness and character of the leather. Vegetable tanned leather will develop a wonderful patina over time. The case is designed to last decades and improve with age and use.

The Artwork:
The art has been permanently etched into the leather in black/brown.
- The front of this leather bag displays a butterfly under the sun, and above a small garland.
- The back of the case features two butterflies in profile over a patch of wildflowers.
- The sides of the case feature butterflies over a small garland, mirroring the front of the case.
The Colors:
Antique Amber Tan provides a unique vintage appeal as backdrop to the art. Our hand-dyed leather process produces an array of shades with incredible depth in the color. The natural character of the real full grain leather combined with the hand dying process makes each bag unique.
Bag Hardware:
An upgraded heavy duty antique brass toned metal clasp keeps the bag closed when not in use and your items secure. Two small leather flaps on the sides help to keep your items contained.
Strap Details:
A matching full grain leather strap is both removable and adjustable, including these features:
- Two antique brass toned lobster clips - one at each end - for easy removal and attachment.
- Antique brass toned conway buckle for adustment.
- 8 adjustment holes spaced 2 inches apart, for a strap length from 38 inches to 52 inches, measuring from end of lobster clip to end of lobster clip.
- One antique brass hoop where you can easily clip on bag charms or keychains.
Hand stitching:
Hand sewn with heavy duty black colored waxed thread. We use a saddle stitch, which is a proven hand stitching method for keeping all the seams super tight and to prevent unraveling.

We take custom orders through the custom listings in our shop. We are unable to add personalization or customization to non-custom / ready-made items after purchase, because of differences in pricing, processing and shipping times, fabrication methods, and return policies. What is vegetable tanned leather?
Vegetable tanning is an organic process to preserve the leather. It uses natural tannins from plant sources, making it more environmentally friendly. It’s a slow process which takes weeks to months to complete.
Vegetable-tanned leather has some rigidity to it, which helps the product to retain its shape and integrity. Vegetable-tanned leather will soften and develop a rich patina over time, meaning your item will develop a unique and appealing appearance as it ages, only getting better with time.
By contrast, chrome-tanned leather is quickly chemically and more inexpensively tanned. It may present toxins to the environment and manufacturing employees. "Vegan", faux, or PU leather is petroleum-based polyurethane/vinyl.Tarot Case Sizing and Capacity
There are many different sizes of card decks, so be sure to check your specific deck's measurement against your listing before ordering.
Most tarot card cases are sized to house a standard sized tarot deck or smaller. The standard cases will house this size deck or smaller:
2 7/8 inches (72mm) wide
1.25 inches (32mm) deep
4 15/16 inches (125mm) tall.
All our standard size tarot cases are tested at the time of creation and prior to shipping, using a classic RW deck from a US publisher. We also have listings in our shop for palm sized (slightly smaller) or oversized decks. If you need a larger case to fit your specific deck, I would be happy to custom build one for you.
